7th-Day Advent Bible Ministry Church - Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Soon
Is The Day of Jesus Christ's Return Fixed or Changeable?

Jesus says in Matthew 24:36 - But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

1. Did God the Father know Already the Day and Hour of Jesus Christ's Return?
According to the Matthew 24:36 - Yes!

2. Is the Day and Hour of Jesus Christ's Return Fixed?  Why so or Why not?

Since the day and hour of Jesus Christ's return is already known by God, therefore, it has to be fixed in order to be known. If it is not fixed, then, it would not have been known by God.

3. What other evidence to support that the day and hour of Jesus Christ's return is fixed?

The signs of Jesus' return tells us that the day and the hour of His return is fixed. The signs of the end of the world as given by Jesus Christ to mark the closeness of His coming back confirms the day of His return to be fixed. If the day and hour of Jesus Christ's return is not fixed; then how can we know that we are coming closer to His return? ....Don't you think we can be deceived if the day and the hour is not know by Jesus Christ who is also God the Son? .... It won't make any sense for Jesus Christ to give us the signs in Matthew 24 to inform us of the closeness of His return and yet the day and hour of His coming changes, not fixed.

4. Is there another evidence from Scripture to support the day and the hour of Jesus Christ's return to be fixed?

The prophecies given by Jesus Christ himself are to tell us of how close we are to the day and hour of His return. In the book of Revelation, chapter 13, it gives us the prophecy that we cannot buy or sell at the end time before Jesus Christ returns. Therefore, the giving of the prophecies by Jesus Christ is to forewarn us of the closeness of the day and hour of His return which has to be fixed, not changeable.

The Bible talks about Jesus Christ - John 5:39. He is the ONE revealed in the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. It is about the "testimony of Jesus Christ." It is not about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, John the Baptist or Mrs. Ellen G. White. The prophets talk of God Jehovah which is Jesus Christ himself in the Old and New Testament.

5. Do we have another evidence from Scripture to support the day and hour of Jesus Christ's return to be fixed?

Acts 17:31 - "Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead."

Ellen G. White says, "There is a day that God hath appointed for the close of this world's history: "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Prophecy is fast fulfilling." [Book; Last Day Events, p.16, paragraph 4].

6. Is there any other Bible evidence to cement the belief that the day and hour of Jesus Christ's return to be fixed?

Isaiah 46:9 says, "Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,"(V10) Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:"

God is the One that declares the end from the beginning. Thus, the day and the hour of Jesus Christ's return is known to God. Apparently, the day and hour of Jesus Christ's return has been appointed and is FIXED. .As for us, we don't have a clue.

Ellen G. White says, "There is a day that God hath appointed for the close of this world's history: "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Prophecy is fast fulfilling." [Book; Last Day Events, p.16, paragraph 4].

Ellen G. White says, "So now, before the coming of the Son of man, the everlasting gospel is to be preached "to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people." Rev. 14:6, 14. God "hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world." Acts 17:31. Christ tells us when that day shall be ushered in. He does not say that all the world will be converted, but that "this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." By giving the gospel to the world it is in our power to hasten our Lord's return. We are not only to look for but to hasten the coming of the day of God. 2 Peter 3:12, margin. [Desire of Ages, p.633].

The preaching of the gospel is a sign that will take place before the appointed day and hour of the Lord's return. As far as the day and hour of Jesus Christ's return is concerned, it has ALREADY been APPOINTED. The day is set from the beginning before the universe was made.

Our preaching of the gospel will become a sign to fulfill God's predictions. God knows and predicts things to happen before the second coming. The seven last plagues is another sign that will take place before Jesus Christ's appointed day of returning.

7. What would be the evil consequences about God of the belief that says, "The day and the hour of Jesus Christ's return is NOT FIXED BUT changeable based upon our faithfufness in preaching the gospel as in Matthew 24:14?"

(i) . That God is NOT ALL KNOWING.
(ii) . That God DOES NOT KNOW THE FUTURE.
(iii) .That God is a LIAR by giving us the signs and prophecies pointing to Jesus Christ second coming AND THEN LATER CHANGES.
(iv) . That we control Jesus Christ's return by OUR PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL.

8. What are the evil consequences the members of a church would face if they believed that Jesus Christ's day and hour of second coming is based upon their preaching of the gospel as in Matthew 24:14?

(i)  They would face disappointment and discouragement if Jesus Christ does not come back at their expected time since they had put in so much effort to preach the gospel.
(ii) They would become very judgmental of others who do not do the work of preaching the gospel.
(iii) They would blame those who are not active in church as the ones caused the delay of Jesus Christ's return.
(iv) They would continue to misinterpret the Bible because of their lack of understanding biblical interpretation principles.
(v) Since their zeal and motivation to preach the gospel is to hasten Jesus Christ's coming; that would be advocating salvation by works.

9. Has the day and hour of Jesus Christ' return being appointed already, and is it fixed?

Absolutely!
